Update for 9/3

 Dear Parents,

     This week we have been focusing on the following in Social Studies and Math:  I can explain why the government is divided into three branches and give examples of some of the responsibilities of each branch of government.  I can interpret and create graphs to show my data and measure to the nearest inch and half inch. 

     Some wonderful resources for your student to review on over the next few weeks are:  Brain Pop videos on Democracy, Three Branches of Government, Latitude and Longitude, Voting, Athens, U.S. Constitution, Supreme Court, Presidential Power, How a Bill Becomes a Law.  Also, Brain Pop has incredible review games such as:  Executive Command, Supreme Decision, Law Craft, Checks and Balances, Branches of Government, Do I Have a Right?, and Argument Wars.  I promise you that your student will learn and deepen their understanding of our amazing government as they play!!

      In Math, students can continue to review on iReady and IXL.  Anything related to addition, subtraction, place value, rounding, measurement to the inch and 1/2 inch, and graphing will reinforce what your child is learning in class.  IXL lesson B.1-B.9, C.1-C.7, D.1-D.5, M.1-M.4, and R.3 are the most relevant.

     Esta semana hemos estado centrando en el siguiente en Estudios Sociales y Matemáticas: Puedo explicar por qué el gobierno se divide en tres ramas y dar ejemplos de algunas de las responsabilidades de cada rama del gobierno. Puedo interpretar y crear gráficos para mostrar mis datos y medir a la pulgada más cercana y media pulgadas.

     Algunos recursos maravillosos para su estudiante que examine en los próximos semana son: Brain Pop videos sobre Democracia, tres poderes del Estado, Latitud y Longitud, Votar, Atenas, US Constitución, el Tribunal Supremo, Poder Presidencial, ¿Cómo un proyecto de ley se convierte en ley. También, Pop cerebro tiene juegos de revisión increíbles como: Comando Ejecutivo, Resolución Suprema, Ley artesanía, pesos y contrapesos, Poderes del Estado, ¿Tengo un Derecho ?, y guerras argumento. Les prometo que su hijo va a aprender y profundizar su comprensión de nuestro gobierno sorprendente, ya que jugar !!

      En matemáticas, los estudiantes pueden continuar en opinar sobre iReady y IXL. Todo lo relacionado con la suma, resta, valor posicional, redondeo, medida a la pulgada y 1/2 de pulgada, y la representación gráfica reforzará lo que su hijo está aprendiendo en clase. IXL lección B.1-B.9, C.1-C.7, D.1-D.5, M.1-M.4 y R.3 son los más relevantes.
